MARCH 3, 1954 MONROE (LA.) NEWS-STAR SEVEN DR. JOHN J. RASMUSSEN Guest Speaker Dr. Rasmussen Will Deliver Mere Dr. John J.

Rasmussen, pastor of the Noel Memorial Methodist Church of Shreveport, will be the guest speaker at the services at St. Methodist Church beginning Sundav. March 7. Dr. B.

Oliphint pastor, has announced. The guest speaker will hold services at 7:30 p. m. each evening through Wednesday, March 10. Dr.

Rasmussen will also be the Religious Emphasis Week speaker at Northeast Louisiana State College each morning at 9:30 in the college auditorium. He will speak on the theme Students Face to Face with After each s- rviee he will be at the Wesley foundation house, across College Avenue from the campus. Dr. Rasmussen was born in Vienna, Austria, and received his education in the schools of Germany. In the fall of 1922, he was granted a scholarship to Emory University at Atlanta, Georgia.

Upon completion of his theological studies at Etnory, he came to Louisiana, where he has served various churches. Before coming to Memorial Methodist Church Shreveport, he served as pastor if the First Methodist Church in Lake Charles, Trinity Method st Church in Ruston, and churches in Minden and Mansfield. He has made two trips to Europe In 1937 and 1946. During the latter trip he represented the reconstruction department of the World Council of Churches in Poland. He spent six months behind the Iron Curtain administering relief to the Churches of war-devastated Poland.

Dooley, Tuesday morning after an extended illness. Native of Tallahatchie, she had conducted evangelistic work in 28 states, and held her membership in the Church of God, Weatherford, Tex. Since 1942, she had been a resident of Holly Rifige, moving there from West Virginia, where she held a pastorate of a Church of God in a small town.
