There were approximately 70 persons in attendance. Guest speakers were Tom Heard. state president of F.B.L.A. and Richard Clanton, executive secretary of F.B.L.A. Tom is the twelfth state president of Louisiana.

He spoke on the of F.B.L.A.” and gave the twelve purposes of the club. lie stated that the two most important purposes are to competent aggressive business and to the confidence and work of the Tom has also spoken to two hundred teachers in Baton Rouge and to another large group in Little Rock. Speaking to such groups is quite an accomplishment for someone only sixteen years old. Mr. Clanton has spoken for State and National Conventions.

The club has also attended a number of speech festivals at Northeast Louisiana Stale Col and at Northwestern State "diego. At the prsent the club is pro paring for a drama workshop which will take place on the Lou isiana State University campus. They will attend a melodrama at Vicksburg in the spring WMHS Ensemble Performs At Civitan Banquet The West Monroe Civitan Club held their annual Christmas banquet, Tuesday.

December 17 in the dining hall of Highland Park Country Club. The dinner was held for the wives of the members in the club. The club has held a supper for the lad ies for the past several years. Entertainment for the banquet was furnished by the West Monroe High School Ensemble, composed of Hilda Averelte, Raymond Frazier, Pat Guraedy, William Guyton, Pain Hull, Danny Perkins, Kay Pruett, Harold Roberts, Rita Stewart, Sandra Telford, and Willie Rogers. group was accompanied by Bonnie Jo Newcomer.

The ensemble sang We Wish You a Merry Christmas, Christmas Eve, Santa Claus is Coming to Town, Sleigh Ride, White Christmas, In the Black Mid- Winter, Count Your Blessings, Be Home For Christmas, and Angels We Have Heard On High. The group is directed by Mrs. Arnold Kilpatrick Science will observe the year of the quiet sun with a flurry of activity. Politieans, we hope, will honor the quiet sun by emulating it.
