6 The Monroe News-Star Tuesday. January 15, 1952 Hayamaka, Take On Curtis Boys Again In Relay Ssrap Tonight Sporls Roundup The unbeaten (here) closed for the holidays. Hayamaka light heavyweight wrestling cham- slood in the estimation of the £, TT fans until he tangled with Jack pion, Sugi Havamaka, return Curtis in a championship bout here Gus Kallio Arena cohight along f0ur weeks ago. The match went with McDonald to take to a 90-minute draw, but Haya- on Jack and George Curtis in a maka had to use a few unfair tac- i tics to get that close. The tag team match will have a tag team bout.

The Curtis boys, beaten by a fluke in last match against the same pair, are looking for enge in tonight's return match, according to Promoter Kallio. The and the fans were pretty well aroused last week after Hayamaka and McDonald had teamed up on Jack Curtis to win the match alter Curtis had placed Hayamaka in an unbreakable leg hold. Upon seeing his Japanese partner about to lose the bout. McDonald simply leanets his bulky frame over the ropes and downed Curtis with a blow in back of the head. The referee had his back turned at the time and looked around just in time to see maka pinnin? Jack Curtis, so he counted him out.

The fans set up a yell, but by then it was too late to do anything. It looked for a feu minutes like the ns would leap on McDonald, Hayamaka and the referee but they quieted down and no trouble started. The Curtis brothers seemed to have the match sewed up most of the way in last bout, although they lost ihe first and last falls. They went through their performances With all the grace of the good wrestlers they are, getting into trouble only when McDonald decided to use his fists. McDonald, making his first appearance here in about six years, had an instant effect on the fans.

They booed him lordly from the minute he left his dressing room until the time he went back. However, he put on a good show and seemed unawed by the prowess of the up to Jack whenever fist fighting developed. In fact the only one of the wrestlers who was somewhat of a disappointment was Hayamaka. Despite the fact that he is a champion, he put on a poor showing in the match and was nearly always on the receiving tud of all the punishment. He has slipped a lot in the estimation of the fans, who liked hini on his first appearance here but have since gone from indifference to outright dislike of the little Japanese champion.

He showed none of his former skill in the match, but with the aid of McDonald ent on to win again.
