10 The Monroe News-Star Wednesday, January'9, 1952 22 Teams Participate In Oak Grove Basketball Event Opening Tonight HE'S READY TO TALK Oak Grove, Jan. 9. teams 12 in the division and ten in the class will participate in the annual Oak Grove High School Invitational Basketball Tournament here Thursday. Friday and Saturday, it was announced by Cecil Johnson, Oak Grove cor ch. Three games will serve as the tournament kickoff Thursday night with the Forest and Tallulah boys appearing in the first game at 6 The Mer Rouge and tieello girls follow with a game at 7:30 and quintets of Oak Crove and Oak Ridge play at! 9 Bastrop, Lake Providence.

Epps, and Kilbourne loom big as favorites in the division which includes teams from Monticello, Delhi. Mer Rouge, Pioneer, Oak Ridge, Tallulah, Forest, and Oak Grove. The Oak Grove girls, defending state Class A champions and unbeaten in two years, rule as favorites in their class along with Kilbourne, Epps, and Pioneer. The darkhorses are Mer Rouge, Bas- trop. Monticello.
