The City cf Camden is due up from New Orleans tomorrow morning, and the Parlor City leaves that city tomorrow evening for this port. There will he a general rehearsal by the Monroe Choral and Orchestral Association tonight. All members are urged to be present.

If the weather is bad hacks will call for lady members. The two young deer captured a couple of months since on the eastern division of the V. S. P. railroad by W.

R. Ferguson are thriving and are gentle as lambs. Verily Ferguson is proud of his pets and has good ason to be. The band concert at court square last night was exceptionally well attended and the program, as pub lished in the News last evening, faithfully carried out. The weather was quite pleasant, there being a coul and invigorating breeze blowing and ail who attended enjoyed the evening.

Street Commissioner McCabe hae been the recipient of much praise for the good work that he has done with the chain gang on the streets, notably on DeSiard and Walnut streets. His gang have been closely attentive to their work notwithstanding the extreme heat. The bicycle stolen from Prof. H. H.

Byrd about a month ago was found at Swartz yesterday. Wm. Franklin, and Anderson Johnston were charged wiih stealing same. On preliminary examination Franklin was held under $100 bond and Johnston $50 as access sory. Both defendants were colored gentlemen.

J. Seale and purchased by lier at sheriffs sale on the 3rd day of April, 1896, being onehalf interest of that inherited by Joseph Lee Baker in said lands, the said interest of Mrs.

S. J. Seale, the sale of which siie has enjoined, amounting to about one fifteenth of the whole. Seized as the property of defendant and will be sold to satisfy said writ and all costs. Terms of sale on twelve months credit for what the property will bring, the purchaser to give bonil with good and sufficient security bearing 8 per cent interest per annum from date of sale, costs and taxes to be paid in cash.
