Laffitte of Costa Mesa, CA nephew Gus Laffitte and his wife Debbie of Grand Carte, LA niece Gail Laffitte Strickland and her husband Michael of Vicksburg, MS, and cousin Rose Margaret Hamilton Tyler and her husband David of Monroe, LA and his Boston terrier, Rocky. Sports were Don's hobby. A football letterman in high school, Don went on to become an active member of the Mansfield High School Quarterback Club.

After graduation, he played semi-professional baseball in the Shreveport and Mansfield area. In 1951-52, he played on a championship softball team in Mansfield. In later years, he took up golf and was a member of the Mansfield and East Ridge country clubs. He was a longtime fan of the Boston Red Sox and all LS.U. sports.

He attended both the LS.U. football games of Billy Cannon's era and the famed L.S.U.-Auburn "Earthquake Game" of 1988. Mr. Robertson's other interests included drinking coffee, and playing bridge and dominos with his friends, reading Westerns, and caring for his Boston terrier. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to the church, public library, or charity of your choice.

Mr.

Robertson died Wednesday, January 24, 2007, after a lengthy illness. Mr. Robertson was born on November 20, 1918 in Pelican, LA He graduated from Mansfield High School in 1937. Mr. Robertson served his country during World War Two as a technical sergeant in the U.S.

Army Air Corp in the Pacific Theater. He worked in managerial positions in several companies in DeSoto Parish, including Nabors Trailer Company, Gulf Oil, and the Laffitte Lumber Company. He was married to Shirley Virginia Laffitte, whom he met while both were working at Nabors Trailers, on June 20, 1948. They lived in the Carmel Community of DeSoto Parish before moving to Shreveport. Late in life, Mr.

Robertson moved to Monroe to be near his son's family. Mr. Robertson was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Shirley Robertson, his parents, Henry Clay Robertson, and Ina Williams Robertson, his father and mother-in-law, Mr. Ernest Andrew Laffitte, and Reba Shelton Laffitte, his brother and sister-in-law, Henry Clay Robertson, and Jessie Roark Robertson, his sister and brother-in-law, Claudine Robertson Love and Frost Johnson Love, brother-in-law, Ernest Andrew "Sonny" Laffitte, nephews, Bill Robertson and Joel Laffitte, and niece Linda Robertson Cohen. He is survived by his son, Clay Andrew Robertson and his wife, Karla, of Oak Grove, LA, one granddaughter, Claire Alyse Robertson, sister-in-law Bettye Laffitte of Mansfield, LA, nephew Joe Robertson and his wife Stephanie of Oklahoma City, OK, niece Lori Laffitte Byrd and her husband Steve of Arlington, TX, nephew Alan Home, Monroe.

Ms. Lauve was born on January 10, 1938 in Monroe, LA, and passed away on January 31, 2007, at St. Francis North Hospital following a brief illness. Ms. Lauve was a lifelong resident of Monroe and graduated from Neville High School and attended Southern Methodist University.

She was a member of Kappa Kappa Gama, Monroe Junior League, Daughters of the American Revolution, Colonial Dames, and a CASA volunteer. Ms. Lauve was a homemaker and, at one time, wrote for the Monroe Morning World, and a former sales associate for Steinmart and Dillards Department Store. She was preceded in death by her parents, Travis Oliver, Jr. and Katherine Morrison Oliver.

Survivors include her two daughters, Mary Edwards Lauve; and Katherine Lauve Montcalm and husband Gary Raul Montcalm, grandson, Gary Raul Montcalm III; granddaughter, Anna Olivier Montcalm; and brother, Travis Oliver III ail of Monroe, LA. Visitation will be Saturday from until service time at Kilbourne Hall at Grace Episcopal Church. She was born in El Dorado, Arkansas, February 8, 1923, the daughter of Lena Goodwin Trimble and John D. Trimble. She is survived by her husband of sixty-two years, Jack P. Mabray, Monroe; two daughters: Melinda Mabray Wright and her husband, John Harvey Wright III, of McAllen, TX; and Mary Amanda Mabray Hardwick and her husband, Jon W. Hardwick, of Monroe; two sons; J.

Patton Mabray, New-ellton, LA; and John T. Mabray and his wife, Catherine Cole Mabray, of Lynchburg, VA; eight grandchildren: John H. Wright, rv, and his wife, tdie, of San Antonio, TX; Amanda Mabray Wright, San Antonio, TX; William Mead Hardwick, of Dallas, TX; Jon Marshall Hardwick, Monroe; Wilson Trimble Mabray, Monroe; Cole Mabray Harbert and her husband, Raymond J. Harbert, of New York City; Michal Patton Mabray, Lynchburg, VA; J. Trimble Mabray, Lynchburg, VA; and one great-grandson: John Harvey "Jack" Wright of San Antonio; two sisters: Jean Turner Brewer of Jackson, MS; Mary Maier of Fayetteville, AR; one brother John D.

Trimble, Jr. and his wife Robin, El Dorado, AR; and numerous beloved nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and nephews. She attended Mary Baldwin College, Staunton, VA, and graduated from the University of Arkansas, where she was a member of Chi Omega Sorority. In 1947, she and her family moved to Newellton, LA, where Bettie was active in the Newellton Union Church and in community activities until the family moved to Monroe in 1960. Bettie was a contributing member of various community organizations in Monroe, as well as a faithful member of the congregations of First Presbyterian and Covenant Presbyterian Church.

She was a member of the National Society of the Colonial Dames of America in the State of Louisiana, and also served on the Board of Trustees, Lyon College, Batesville, AR. She was first of all a devoted wife and loving mother and grandmother, whose presence filled our lives with happiness and gave us a legacy of faith. Beloved by friends and family as a fun-loving woman of keen intellect, vivacious spirit, and generous soul, she will be remembered as an example of what it means to live life to the fullest with deep faith in God. She was a faithful steward of God's many blessings upon her, and, therefore, a blessing to us all. Her kindness and compassion touched many lives.

The family expresses deep appreciation to Dr. Marshall Leary and Dr. David Barnes for their compassionate, loving care and medical expertise; and to the staff of Northeast Louisiana Cancer Institute, whose personal attention was a source of great comfort and encouragement; and to Grade Smith and Jonas Ervin whose cheerful countenance brightened our days. Funeral Services are under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Elkin, age 80, will be held 10:00 AM Saturday, February 3, 2007 at Gill First National Funeral Home with Rev. Marion Collier officiating.

Interment will be in Myrtle Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Gill First National Funeral Home. Visitation will be Friday, February 2, 2007, from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Gill First National Funeral Home Sanctuary. She is preceded in death by her parents, Hollis W. Tarver and Ruby Ann Tarver, two brothers, Ellis and John Tarver; one sister Eleanor T. Marionneaux.

Faye is survived by one son David Elkin and wife Diane of Lafayette, LA; two granddaughters Jessica Schexnayder and Amy Christoph of Lafayette, LA and five great grandchildren of Lafayette, LA, two sisters, Audrey Joiner of Monroe, LA and Bettye McKennie of Mobile, AL, many other relatives and a host of friends. Faye started to work in the Franklin Parish Clerk of Courts office in 1961. She was elected Clerk of Court in 1984 and served 16 years until she retired in 2000. She never met a stranger and was a true public servant for the people of Franklin parish. She later moved to Lafayette, LA to be close to her son and grandchildren whom she loved dearly.

Pallbearers will be: Dr. Jay Busby, Thurman Dickey, Roger Elkin, James McLemore, Randy Shirley, and A. A. "Skipper" Willison. Honorary pallbearers will be Ernest "Bubba" Baccarini, J.
