Mr. King was the former Mayor of Cleveland and Owner of Thweatt King Funeral Home from 1958 to 1988. He is preceded in death by his parents; and brother, David Frank King.

Mr. King is survived. by his wife, Virginia Sue Thweatt King of Cleveland, MS; son, Martin Thomas King, III (Leanne Rut-ledge) of Stanley, NC; daughter, Virginia Thweatt King Meyers (Dr. Owen M. Meyers) of Monroe, LA; grandson, Noah Reese King of Stanley, NC; granddaughter, Virginia Caroline Meyers of Hattiesburg, MS; and grandson, Martin Graham Meyers of Monroe, LA.
